API: the average low and high estimates of 10 analysts surveyed by Bloomberg News
crude -0.3 to +0.5
gasoline -0.6 to -1.3
distillate fuel +1.4 to +2.0

"We need to be building 4 to 5 million barrels of distillate fuel a week for the next six weeks before anyone feels comfortable with inventories again," said Tom Bentz, an energy trader with Paribas Futures Inc. in New York.

Inventories of gasoline: the decline partly reflects increased demand from motorists at the end of the summer driving season.
