J,

the SPNS situation got dicey when it tried to take off and couldn't yesterday. It's not looking too encouraging.

09/05/00 SPNS has notified the SEC of an unscheduled material event.
Alert Description
Might some company action significantly impact its financial condition or the price of its shares? If so, and if the company is publicly held, it has one month after the action to file a Form 8-K with the Securities & Exchange Commission
Sometimes called the "current report," this document is used to disclose a wide variety of actions -- an acquisition, bankruptcy, resignation of directors, a change in the fiscal year, an amendment to the corporate bylaws. If the event is something that a prudent investor would want to know about before making a buy or sell decision, and it hasn't been reported previously, then the law says a Form 8-K is required. It provides more current information on such events than the regular quarterly (10-Q) or annual (10-K) forms
