| That is the cause of the guarded, "Fairly". As for the political stuff, well, the underlying principles are practically QED, it just a matter of applying them.....That is the problem with you guys: I knew that the Soviet Union would become more tractable with Reagan's strategy, while lefty Sovietologists were saying that it would strengthen hard- liners. I knew that the economy would be strong, while Democratic economists were predicting that the chickens would come home to roost in the 90s. I knew that we would win Desert Storm handily (actually, it took a day longer than I predicted, because of inclement weather), while liberals were running around predicting a protracted conflict and terrorism around the world in retaliation. Well, I was right, you all were wrong, and I am taking the satisfaction I deserve for the decisions I made to support Reagan and Bush. You can make up your ad hoc excuses for why the Soviet Union fell, or why the economy flourished under Reagan, or why the recession was short, and the recovery began before Clinton took office, and so forth, but I don't need to make up a bunch of junk. My side was right! |
