This Giga thing is clueless. It reads like an IBM press release. Linux isn't even actual Unix. It's a Unix workalike. It is though based on the same flavor as Solaris. A trained Linux admin/user is almost all the way there as an enterprise Solaris admin/user. --- Linux is not as robust or scalable. Hence, Solaris admins earn 50% more. It's the best farm team a ball club could ask for. Sun is doing more to promote Linux (and make it better) than anyone, including IBM. --- All that aside, Linux is the epitome of a weak brand. People want a vendor where, when they have a problem, they hear, 'Sun says it will be fixed yesterday'. -- 'Yesterday? - Well okay then, thats what I wanted to hear'. <g> -JCJ
