Lars:

1. He posts in response to questions presented on his board with an occasional open ended comment. There is no guarantee that he will answer your questions but he makes an effort to answer a good number. With that said, he may post 5 to 10 times a week.

2. He responds to mostly investment questions. He avoids political questions and individual stock questions for the most part probably because political discussion (as on this thread) has no end and individual stock questions could end up turning the board into a tout forum.

3. I have no idea of the number of followers on the board. There are a handful of regulars. Who knows how many lurkers. The key difference between this thread and that board is that individuals rarely talk to one another over on AOL - everything is directed towards BB. Sort of like being in class with BB as the teacher. I do not think this is planned. It is just the way things have turned out over there.

4. Yes, I have talked to BB on occassions but only on the show although I have had personal correspondence with him.

Some comments:

1. AMAT was a recommended purchase on NBR at around the high 50s before the semi-equipment meltdown. The format on NBR is (IMHO) to ask all guests for individual stock picks whether they advocate this approach personally or not.

2. If one were finishing a three year contract with your listener numbers probably on the rise, would anyone on this thread bang on the table to say that they love doing the show and would work for free? Of course, I exaggerate here to make a point.

3. The context of BB's discussion re retirement is important. He was faced with the premature death of a friend, Tom Frank, the portfolio manager of the Dreyfus New Leaders fund at the age of 55. It seemed shareholder in this fund were asking him if they should be concerned about their $$$ in light of his tragic death. BB percieved these folks to be insensitive and began to question the meaning of life and his future on the show.Nothing more than a few posts on this subject from him. He did mention that his contract expired at the end of 1997.

4.After this weekend's show, there is no question in my mind that BB reads this thread.
