Palm Ventures: Palm to invest in other hand-held computing firms NEW YORK, Sept 6 (Reuters) - Hand-held computer maker Palm Inc. (NASDAQ: PALM) said on Wednesday it is forming Palm Ventures Inc. to make investments in companies that will support the Palm operating platform. Palm said it has earmarked about $50 million as an initial investment in Palm Ventures. The new organization will serve essentially as an investment firm for companies supplementing Palm Pilots.
