kemble, <<<Why hasn't someone in the analyst world commented on....I sit here amazed that the negative spin of one analyst can sway this stock...>>>
We have to give this man (Kumar) his due. He is not only lowering valuations of DELL, INTC, the PC, and semiconductor sectors, but most of NASD for the past two days. What he says has some merit - on some very high level.
But, I think it is over done as far as Dell is concerned. It is up to DELL management to go out to the investment community and sell them on their vision.
Right now Scott McNealy and Lou Gerstner are terrific practitioners of selling their vision - even though I don't think much of their vision. The investment community obviously do not agree with me.
DELL I beleive, has a terrific story to tell, and it is not being told. Michael Dell used to do this very well, when he used to appear on all the business TV stations, shareholder and analyst meetings.
I think he beleives the new management team that he selected can do the job. I don't think so.
It is not just a matter of executing and getting the job done. You have to execute, get the job done, tell your story and manage expectations.
