That is quite a curve. As you say, it could well be achieved since sales to 31 August isn't a good guide. By the end of September, we'll know if they'll make it. They'll have to have 1,000 by the end of September.

It would be nice if 300 of those are fixed phones being run 7/24. Unlikely. Even if they are mobiles being rented in towns with no service as a business that would do me too!

PS: Re Valueman comments; I read his comments that data by itself would not sustain Globalstar. Not that selling data would bankrupt Globalstar. Not all data is created equal. The uplink from the Globalstar device to Globalstar is more valuable data than the downlink by the Gigabyte from the geostationary, ICO, Skybridge or whatever cheap data mover sends the requested information.

The uplink is more valuable because there is less competition. WWeb Globalstar users would pay extra to get their request through. Somebody with a Globalstar WWeb device would have to use Globalstar or get some other technology, which would be a big hassle and cost.

Globalstar is a voice system and will not win on data other than as an adjunct to the main business which is voice.

I'm not wishing to prolong the 'debate', but that's my understanding of the technology and market.

If Globalstar was data only, it is not cheap enough to compete with other data options. That's the impression I have anyway.
