Palm (NASDAQ: PALM chart, msgs) a 3Com (NASDAQ: COMS chart, msgs) spin-off and global provider of handheld computing devices will use privately held Firepad's FireViewer 5 to stream real time video on its handheld devices. Firepad's video technology is capable of displaying full-screen video data on a Palm(TM) device at up to 25 frames per second. The technology will be released later this year in the FireViewer 5(TM) client application and the FireProducer(TM) server application.
Firepad's FireViewer 5 enhances handheld capabilities and could make it more attractive to a broader base of potential customers.
