Elizabeth, here's more on the music that we liked so well. Perhaps the needle was stuck in the groove (that dates me doesn't it?) when I listened.

Oscar G. is one of the most highly sought after DJ's and producers in the world and was recently praised as "one of the most exciting DJs in the world" by Darren Ressler, editor-in-chief of Mixer Magazine. Together with Ralph Falcon, Oscar G. launched the Funky Green Dogs in the early '90s, when their chart-topping single "Reach For Me" put them firmly on the map. Later, in 1997, Funky Green Dogs exploded onto the pop charts with their now-classic single, "Fired Up!" from their acclaimed debut album Get Fired Up! The single's robust fusion of grinding beats and bass catapulted the group into the mainstream, with worldwide sales exceeding 250,000 units; it hit Top 20 in the UK, No. 1 on the Billboard Club Chart, and went Gold in Belgium.

"It is an honor for Guidance Recordings to be given the opportunity to provide the soundtrack to Rockstar's Smuggler's Run," said Ivan Pavlovich, president of Guidance Recordings. "The idea that our music will be used to enhance and direct the mood of the game and the player is extremely gratifying. Normally, we get this sort of gratification and experience when we hear our records being played at the clubs, but this is a brand new arena for us and we are looking forward to the challenge."

"As arguably the finest house music label on earth, Guidance Recordings is occasionally overlooked as purveyors of deep, enthralling soundscapes which lend themselves perfectly to the cinematic quality we try to deliver with our games," states Terry Donovan, COO of Rockstar Games. "The diversity and imagination behind the Guidance Recordings sound create the perfect backdrop for the moody and adrenaline filled world of Smuggler's Run. Releasing this soundtrack commercially only reaffirms that the quality of video game music is now at a level where it can be enjoyed and respected by not only those who love videogames but also by the cognoscenti who are in search of good music."

Smuggler's Run propels you into the merciless and mercenary world of smuggling in the most intense off-road experience ever. As a new member of a gang of rugged individualists known as "The Forgotten," you must prove yourself to your teammates and potential clients. Success brings more prestigious missions with richer rewards. But many things stand in your way--starting with the rugged terrain itself. To complicate matters, rival gangs of smugglers will try to steal your contraband, and law enforcement will try to bust you. It all comes down to your driving skill and smarts. Smuggler's Run takes you beyond tracks and into truly open and vast wilderness areas, gives you an assortment of off-road racing vehicles, and sends you on missions to smuggle contraband across tightly guarded international borders. Smugglers' Run is due for release on October 26th on PlayStation 2.
