Settlement or not, a massive Windows2000 upgrade cycle has begun as of this month that will last into 2001 or 2002. All news articles, memory and chip inventory checks at OEM and the spot checks I did with PC clients tells me that massive upgrade cycle has begun.

Note this is the year MSFT will reap benefits of the 2000 wave of products:
