With the flood of 23 Biotech IPO's between mid-July and mid-August come
the expiration of the quiet periods. The quiet period refers to the 25
day period following a public offering when the underwriters are not
allowed to comment on the company. At the end of the quiet period, the
underwriters typically offer Buy or Strong Buy recommendations on the
company that can contribute to a lift in stock price. The quiet period
will expire on September 4th for AtheroGenics (AGIX, $11), Esperion
Therapeutics (ESPR, $16), Large Scale Biology Corp (LSBC, $32) and
Regeneration Technologies (RTIX, $15). On Tuesday, the quiet period will
expire for Lion Bioscience (LEON, $91) and Telik (TELK, $14). Gentleman?
