Just a few weeks after I last announced ITRU's long list of patents, ITRU announces a new patent:
SANTA CLARA, Calif., Sept. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- InterTrust Technologies Corporation (Nasdaq: ITRU - news), the leading developer of peer-to-peer, distributed digital rights management (DRM) technology, announced today that it has received U.S. Patent No. 6,112,181, entitled Systems and Methods for Matching, Selecting, Narrowcasting, and/or Classifying Based on Rights Management and/or Other Information. The '181 patent includes 220 claims and provides recognition of InterTrust's ongoing innovation in the field of digital rights management and secure computing. To date, InterTrust has been issued 15 U.S. patents with more than 40 pending U.S. patent applications.
Patent No. 6,112,181 provides fundamental techniques for managing digital rights and information, including using rights management information to match users with protected digital content they want and to classify protected content in a manner designed to facilitate matching with user requirements or preferences.
