Good question. A psyche is a complex thing! I guess I'm more impatient than you thought. <g>

I never bought TXN; I got it as a result of the BBRC merger. At the time I was elated, but my enthusiasm hasn't been rewarded. I don't have the history with TXN many of you probably have (or that I have with SUNW), so haven't developed the good karma to carry me through the tough times. It seemed the premium associated with the merger was rapidly dissipating, and I was starting to regret voting for it. I don't like to feel regret; it's one of my least favorite emotions.

TXN also didn't fit our overall portfolio very well. We only had 520 shares, so even a double (which doesn't seem terribly likely to me any time soon) wouldn't be a huge amount of money. We have other semi's that I feel better about, and in which we have larger positions (ADI, in particular -- I bought both BBRC and ADI because I thought linear/mixed was the place to be).

It was especially frustrating to see TXN down on a fairly good NASDAQ day.

I really do hope you guys do well, and probably shouldn't have spouted off quite so vigorously. It just seemed time to part.

I commend you for recognizing that psychology and patience are important parts of the game.

JMHO, of course.
