Gartner says 15% of all 95,98 and NT installed base would upgrade to Windows2000 in calendar 2000. Isn't the installed based of 95,98 and NT combined is something north of 300 million? 15% of that is 45million seats. Considering MSFT had sold only 3 million till June 30th; Gartner must think 42 million W2K license will be sold in July - Dec 2000. THat is quite a volume ramp. Note that Gartner also expects 50% of all seats upgraded by 2001 or about 150 million seats.
