Sounds like our friends from Berlin presented:
An interesting comparison between hexagonal and cubic MBE-grown AlN/GaN dots was given. It is anticipated that the cubic dots would have a stronger PL since the oscillator strength would not be reduced by any polarization fields.

Re: Hellman et al
Ploog et al are suggesting that smooth and clean LiAlO2(100) substrates were found to be crucial to avoid the formation of GaN(0001).
Sounds kind of touchy to me. I'd like to see the X-ray scan after they remove the LiAlO2 substrate <g>.
