I owned shares in a defunct Canadian company that traded on the TSE and NASDAQ. I just received a piece of mail that is a Notice of Pendency of Class Action Proposed Settlement. The class action is taking place in New Jersey. Do class actions in the States benefit Canadian shareholders ?

P.S. It's a 6 page legal document and I've read it 3 or 4 time. I sill can't quite figure out what they're trying to say :)
