Trio,

<< AOL at home and couldn't get logged on EVER the entire week >>

Ever think of getting a Real ISP? <g>

Speaking of which MSFT's new browser which supposedly has a very AOL like interface will be interesting to some. Can't remember what its called. Don't know if it's released or still Beta.

<< relegated to cell phone calls to check quotes >>

Checking quotes is about all I do with the WAP interface on my Verizon mobile using their UP (phone.com) browser.

I hate WAP! <g>

I do however use the phone as a modem for a Palm Vx which really increases usability. I synchronize with my Outlook Express Inbox, ACT! contact database AvantGo channels, before travelling. I use the ProxiWeb browser on the Palm and connect to the ProxiNet server through my ISP. I pack a GoType keyboard in my briefcase. Very usable data services and using the Palm instead of a laptop I don't have to put up with a 2+ minute boot. Some of the messages I post on SI use this arrangement. Good for killing time in the airport on your way back from places like Peru (which is a travel hot spot for at least one of our esteemed threadmates).

Curious to know who you are using (used on the Cape) as a wireless carrier? I suspect either Verizon or Sprint PCS, or perhaps AT&T with CDPD.

How was coverage as you moved around on the Cape? did you get off shore with wireless at all (sailing the Elizabeth's).
