I doubt it's desperation, but if you want confusion, go to their 'small business center' site and click on the 220 series workstation. You will notice under the first configuration option (the processor selection) that '866mhz' is listed as a processor selection 3 times, at $328, $107, and $6 in additional cost. When I called Dell to inquire as to what the price really is, the pleasant girl said, 'gee, that must be a typo, and since I don't deal with the business systems, (keep in mind that the phone number provided on the website got me to her), I'll transfer you'. At which point I was disconnected. I do think they are trying to pump up sales early, because they have instituted a 'freebie' program for Dimension right at the start of the quarter.
