Bill. If you want to have a lengthy discussion on the Firestone/Ford situation, you'd better have it now. Next week won't do it. <G> We will be here until the end of this month. But be forewarned that my opinion is not made up entirely on the fault situation as far as Ford is concerned. We know that Firestone is the culprit but to paint Ford with the same brush, I don't know. Yes, they are guaranteeing a safe product but how can you guarantee every part built by someone else? In the end the parts maker has to be held responsible.
What gives me a little hesitation about Ford is that there were tire recalls in diff. countries. But I thought it was about tire maintenance by individual owners. I really have not looked into this matter enough to be able to have a solid position. But I will say that I find Ford's behavior just a little questionable if some of those accusations on foreign tire recalls come to pass. What's your take? I gave my last Ford vehicle, a passenger car, to my daughter in Fla and that's the only Firestone tire I have owned lately. Hence no urgent looksy as far as this matter is concerned. Too bad so for lives that have been lost due to this mess. One thing we know for sure, the Japanese took their good ole time to at least apologize. Orig. they saw no fault of their own, if I understood that correctly.

Talking about another urgency at hand. Stocks are in a slump again. Analysts are really in disarray. It seems they cannot see eye to eye on almost anything at this time. So we little investors are being whip sawed by their conflicting calls. Some call certain areas great, others call the same area no good. And so it goes in almost every sector. Sheesh. What's a novice to do?

Well, I for one bought another 500 sh. of WCOM. At 29 1/2 I could not resist. I know it could go lower now that the telecom sector was downgraded by some this morning, but I will keep on averaging down unless it goes to zero and then I will have to stop. I hope it will not come to that. gg. All my orig. shares luckily still show a gain.
Did you ever buy some WCOM?

I am sure that you are right. It could be slow for a while but then the market should have a nice advance again. Hopefully the NAZ will stay above 4000 for now. And hopefully oil prices will come down soon.

Have a nice weekend. I will ask my daughter about your sightseeing recommendation.

Sonny
