Tony, Re: Jim, how believable do you think those P4 prices are? These prices are in the "official" Intel pricelist (for OEMs) for weeks now. The only difference is that originally Intel planned for 1.3 and 1.4 GHz, now they plan to release 1.4 and 1.5 GHz without changing the prices. And concerning the Rambus rebates: This is also an old story. It was reported in Germany some weeks ago by several independent magazines/websites (I posted this info on the Moderated AMD Thread at that time). If you consider all extra expenses (Rambus memory, expensive cases, special cooling devices, special power supply etc.) these Intel prices/rebates make very much sense. Without them P4 systems would be far too expensive. The only remaining question is how much profit Intel will make on the CPUs with these prices (especially if you think of the large P4 die and the resulting lower yields). Andreas
