When I was a member of Roofers and Waterproofers Local #9, AFL-CIO, it was my experience that there were times when behavior could get downright thuggish. (Not me, of course)

We were told once, "bust his balls any way you can" about a non-union shop owner.

And of course we were always recruited to work in political campaigns. Sometimes that involved going to Republican rallies to disrupt. Always had lots of volunteers for that. <gg> It wasn't a requirement, but the BA knew who pitched in and who didn't. Guess who got sent out on good jobs and who spent a lot of time moping around the union hall?

Unions were needed early in the century, but times are passing them by.
