Thank Daniel, Win-Lose-Draw and Alski for making the term LCD clear to me. You are all correct - digital watches, calculators, cell-phone, computer terminals are all lcds ! I did some reading on the net on my own and found that there are alpha-numeric displays and there are actually some very small form factor graphical displays. It's just a matter of how many dots of resolution you can put in and how easy it is to prgram the graphics to work.

Looks like cell-phone companies are slowly switching from alphanumeric display to graphical display - though I still haven't seen one myself. This trend need to be monitor more closely to see if cell-phone has any chance of taking over most of the functions of a Palm.
