SEC approves Level 2 fees drop to $10/mth starting now:
SEC Approves NQDS Non-Professional Fee Pilot Program
Vendor Administration Notice #2000-7 - September 8, 2000

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) recently approved a new non-professional fee pilot program for Nasdaq Quotation Dissemination ServiceSM (NQDSSM) distributors. Under the new pilot program, Nasdaq® will institute a new NQDS monthly fee of $10 for non-professional subscribers. The one-year pilot program is scheduled to begin September 1, 2000.

To enroll in the pilot program, real-time data distributors must execute the new Addendum for Per Query and Non-Professional Pilot Fees to the Nasdaq Vendor Agreement. Distributors will be enrolled in the pilot program only after an Addendum with an original signature is received by Nasdaq; fax copies are not acceptable. To download the necessary form in PDF format, please click on the View/Print button below.

New Addendum for Per Query and Non-Professional Pilot Fees

By signing the Addendum, the firm agrees to determine the subscriber type (non-professional vs. professional) for its new and existing NQDS customers. In addition, the firm must adjust its monthly usage information to count and report the two NQDS subscriber types separately to Nasdaq. For a definition of a non-professional, please refer Vendor Administration Notice #1999-6. For information on Nasdaq reporting requirements, please refer to the Data Policies section of the Nasdaq TraderSM website.

It should be noted that only Nasdaq data distributors are eligible for the non-professional fee pilot program. Individual subscribers may not apply for the new fee directly with Nasdaq. For a list of NQDS distributors, please refer to the Market Data Vendors section of this site.

Thank you for your attention to this matter. Questions about the NQDS non-professional fee pilot program should be directed to Nasdaq Trading and Market Services at (202) 728-8480 or MKTDATASVC@nasd.com.
