I don't know what the value of the 1980 corl office suite will have when ported natively to Linux.
Probably as much value as Windows had when it was ported to DOS, or Windows 95 when it was ported to both DOS and Window 3.1 apps, or when NT...
This specious argument that is being made about old software is just tremendously misleading since MSFT has been reconfiguring, tweaking, and making "backward compatible" their software from day one.
If it weren't we would be seeing the constant problems that we do.
As for LINUX, we see latest versions overlaid on the previous kernel, and the new applications retooled to deal with the new features....
Granted, Corel is a bloated beast of an application, but no more bloated than the Windows O/S it was forced to comform to.
I HAVE TO BELIEVE that greater efficiency will be seen in a reworked CorelDraw version that is natively ported to Linux. After the crap MSFT has put programmers through, I'm sure someone is up to the challenge.
And CorelDraw isn't the only Linux O/S distribution to make the ZDNet Top Ten for nothing....
People are looking and buying...
