One trading style I have used many times in the past is this,

Using a real-time tick by tick one minute chart of any heavy volume tech stock, QCOM for instance, I would also open the same one minute chart for the NASDAQ index and place it beside the tech stock.

I noticed that the NASDAQ would make major intraday tops and bottoms up to 2 or 3 minutes before the tech stock.....giving ample warning that it was time to exit or enter your stock.

Most NASDAQ biggies mirror the NASDAQ’s movements within a few minutes.
