I used to think a useful PDA form factor and a cell phone form factor were mostly incompatible too. Pretty much different functions would be hard to cram into a compromise shape and would probably end up being no good for either function. I was stuck thinking "in the box".

Until I saw the Nokia 9110, that is. The 9110 doesn't really fit my idea of a good Palm/Pocket PC form factor either, but it sure opened my eyes and reminded what wonderful things might happen when you can think "outside the box."

Check out this link. In the picture at the top of the page you'll finally get to see a phone with a nice graphic display (still too small though) and a wee hint what might be behind it. Then scroll down to the picture at the bottom of the page and let your imagination run a bit!

If that doesn't do it for you, maybe you should check out the pdQ smartphone. That's the cell phone with the Palm Pilot built in!

PS. Neither one of those phones is particularly new. Both have been out for quite a while.
