There's a basic flaw in the 'do everything' PC model. It really doesn't. The more multi-purpose a PC is, the greater the chance of something screwing up. If that PC involves critical stuff (like money -- electronic access to accounts), you're fried when something goes wobbly with some multimedia program that takes out your dialup networking or something (which has happened to me). --- My next PC isn't a PC. I've been a long time PC user, pre internet BBS SysOp and most recently, all the way hip to MS BS consumer. --- My next 'PC' won't make more noise than a refrigerator. It won't make ANY noise. It won't have a hard drive. I won't have to 'futz' with it. I am so *there*. --- MS wants to compete with AT&T. Okay well, good luck with that. The more competition the better. -JCJ
