Hi Steve: I Think your right, and will likly buy in "IF" she don't
outrun me again tomorrow..I'm waiting on most all buys..( like a
lot of others ) to see what the fed does..most sure they will up
the rate another notch..could cause a dip in prices..hopfully just
a dip..may wait till thursday or friday..
--------------------
I know you'v been to Yahoo..have you set up the "My Yahoo" option
man it is neat..I'm pluging in all kinds of portfolios.."sectors"
not just the stocks..but the mutual funds..giving each sector
a seperate one. Lrg Grth , Lrg Valu, Mid...Sml..Bonds..Jap..
you know what I mean..then each day I can track and compare
sectors..as I got it doing a total on each one..man it is neat
beats the heck out of pointcast. I was useing a stock tracker
to do this..had to run the program seperate for each basket..
Yahoo is doing them all with one go..still setting it up but
from what I see so far this will help me screen and focas on
sectors that are moving. All sorts of other gimics too..
can find the funds that are backing up fast..then flip to
morning star and see what their top holdings are ( good way
to find shorts )..today MIDCAP VALUE did best , last week
Small Value did good, And Larg GRTH did good
( Small growth did alfull )..I think you have to watch the
Mutuall funds ( sector wise ) to get a feel for whats going on
the market has been driven by money ( savings ) going into funds
so the funds that get the most inflow..have the most to invest,
and thoes "dollars chasing the stocks drives up the price" this has more to do with price runups than the actual
condition of the companies involved..in a way what I'm looking
at is almost a trailing indicator..but it's not trailing very
far..and has enough momentum that it's useful..if I could get
the actual inflows into the mutual funds every day..I could come
up with a leading indicator at least for the sectors..
like if you knew DGAGX got the most money yesterday..all you would
have to do is look what DGAGX holds and buy that..if you knew
which ones had the most refunds or withdrawals..you would have
the key on what stocks to short..man I would love to find out
how to get the inflow/outflow of money to the mutual funds..you
could put a hurt on this market if you had that info..
Bet someone does too..I'm digging <G>
Jim
