I see that maybe he could have gotten off the divider and he had actually taken a run at people. I only saw the video once. If he could have gotten off the divider at any minute, that changes things in my mind and they may have been justified. And I wouldn't have had a problem if a cop somehow got on top of the tank while it was mowing everything down and shot the guy.

My point was once the guy was hung up, dropping a few cans of tear gas and flash bangs down the hatch would have done quite a job, maybe the cops on the scene didn't have those. Shooting crazy or drunk people dead as the first option is not such a good choice but cops seem to be doing that much more frequently.

Recently, a local loony woman was shot dead by the cops. I believe she was manic, or whatever they call it now, and was blasting music out her apartment window and yelling about Satan , etc. Someone called the cops, they show up, kick in the door, see a mess in the apartment and writing on the walls, kick in her bedroom door at which point she started walking towards them with a kitchen knife screaming about Satan or somesuch. Four cops, they shot her half a dozen times rather than take her down with mace or just grab her or even back out of the apartment and regroup. She was in her mid 50's and not particularly large or skilled. Protect and Serve, good grief.
