James,

Nice post.....Are you a Commission member?

In order to enroll fingerprints on a smart card, you must scan them first.
It will be a nice business......I agree, Randy has done his homework.

What I keep thinking about....is a larger picture of the future of Information Technology. Small cap growth is all about predicting the future......This is what I see:

Internet or electronic commerce. It will be a huge market.....the market of the future. Control over the transactions. Microsoft will move it's massive body into the area.....to sit on any who dare compete. They would be considered the Empire.......Another group is bonding together for the battle. HP / Oracle / Netscape........I have posted many interesting deals these three have put together over the last few months. HP buying Verifone was clear confirmation that HP will be a player.

Where does IDX fit in?.......Simple, internet commerce will not work without authentication of the buyer and seller. Biometrics is the logical solution. This is why IDX having high-level talks with HP should have surprised nobody......In fact, who else would they have talked to?

Fingerprint authentication will be needed for Internet Commerce to work. HP will put scaners in keyboards, mouses, and aux. ports. Verifone will put them in every retail outlet in the world.......Oracle will run the software end and supply their customers (HP) hardware. Netscape will help Navigate the uncharted waters.

Together, they will be a Force to be reckoned with. I believe they are out in front of Microsoft at this point, but that should give no comfort. The beast lurks everywhere!

Will IDX join this group in some way?.......Yes, no doubt in my mind. Quality finds quality. Will one of them buy IDX?.....I hope not. One of them could buy Ascom's 20%........That would be cool. It would put IDX firmly in the group........Where I believe they are right now....anyhow.

bg

ps. The above is a forward looking statement that should be considered as such, then believed by anyone long on IDX.
