Thanks. I agree--in that I already have about half my net worth in oil, oil royalty trusts, gas, etc. I am especially interested in energy companies in which the stock price is also largely quoted in other currencies, such as the Swedish oil company, Lundin (LOILY, and Talisman. At some point the Canadian dollar might pull out of its depression vs. the US dollar and add something to the stock.

I guess I was under the impression that the Euro had enough support--indeed, was a fixed commitment--of the continental countries that have, in my view, managed their economies very well. I would not be uncomfortable holding Euro bonds, though I would agree that it mgiht take a while before any profits showed, and I wouldn't expect anything spectacular there (except measured against total disaster in overvalued stocks that I do expect).
