Hi Harry! How have you been? I think the Palm Freaks went ballistic on PUMA after they bought Proxinet last Fall.

I got very bullish on PUMA last fall after speaking to the people at Proxinet, when they told me they were going to charge a fee for the use of their Proxiweb browser in the Winter of 2000. I was getting excited over all that additional revenue for PUMA. But PUMA wimped out and forced Qualcomm to make their new Eudora Web Browser, which is very fast, free.

I think PUMA made a very big mistake there. The market would have paid.

Moreover, The Insiders are still selling tremendous bulks of shares at these low prices. Puma is still not profitable. Their goal, of course, is to build a Wireless Empire. Puma's Intellisync software for the Wireless Platform is OK; but why would anyone want to hotsync with Puma if they bought their PDA or Pocket PC from 3Com, HWP or CPQ? If you own a few different types of handhelds, the Puma Intellisync Software is a good buy to sync them all. But if you own just one handheld, why use Puma instead of the hotsync technology that comes with your purchase of the handheld?

The bottom line on PUMA is that their still bleeding red on the bottom line and the Market has gotten a bit fed up waiting for these speculative growth stocks to turn a profit.

PUMA may get a bit of a Renaissance after the tax loss selling season is over in December.
