Last saturday i was thinking about tax selling and started to look at the nasdaq.
here are some of my thoughts.

NAS/NMS COMPSITE-- finance.yahoo.com^IXIC&d=2y.
dip oct 98.
high mar 00.
from sept 98 nas has trended steadly up.
from ~1400 to 4000 now.

From jan99 to now it looks like the nas is at the same level.

market correction april-jun 99 corrected overvaluation
from oct 99 to mar 00.

this could show that there may only be losses for those who bought at the top, end of feb 00 till early april 00 and who still own the stock.
there may just be some selected tax loss selling and probably not market wide selling. wonder how this will affect the nas stocks trend in general though.

since aug 12 nas has been in a nice uptrend.

good point about the money managers, and people holding stocks and options (long or short), if they bought in jan they are even now.
(unless they sold at the top and rebought or visa-versa.)

the chance of a big october exists.
