I don not agree with this assessment. It does not have to be an us versus them mentality. Capital and investment create jobs. Everywhere I look I see employee benefits expanding not because of some union or congressional mandate
but because of a shortage of skilled employees.

Some of the members don't want their dues to support candidates with whom they are not in agreement. Sounds reasonable to me.
