Spirit - while I agree with you to a point on some value stocks, I would not personally pursue it to an extreme. At any point in time, one can always find value stocks - and for the last several years, tons of value investors and value fund managers have been caught flatfooted lamenting that value investing is out of style, and as a result, seeing dreadful returns. IMO, I haven't seen any strong change in sentiment yet from the growth, high flyers, momo style back to value investing.
So, while I did add a little WCOM under 30 on Friday, I am not sure that truly is the bottom. After all, I am one who thought 36, then 34 , etc was the bottom on T. LD service is a commodity - and while T and WCOM are much more than that, how long it will take to unlock that other portion, which truly makes up the value, is really unknown. And, IMO I just see no compelling reasons to buy NOVL. What product does NOVL have that people want? Just because they were once a good company, doesn't mean they always will be. Maybe I am missing something, maybe my mind is still focused more on superior growth stocks, or momo plays, and if so, I guess I may miss out if all these value plays actually prove to be good buys . . . but I just don't see it happening. So, other then adding some long term value positions in a few select stocks, I really can't see the reasons for all the table pounding of all the so called value tech stocks.
Just my opinion, and I guess only time will tell - but as Carpe likes to say, thats what makes a market
