There are many SIGNIFICANT differences between CIEN and LUMM, but lets just examine your recent attempt to equate CIEN and LUMM.

First of all, as you correctly state, at one time CIEN had just one customer. What you failed to point out was that A) This customer was a telco and B) LUMM has NO customers.

LUMM has no shipping products, no revenues, and therefore no paying customer.

I dont know who you were debating with back in the day, because the real issue for CIEN in terms of competition was never LU, but Pirelli Optical in the long-haul market and Cambrian (once part of NN now part of NT) in the metro market. CIEN's DWDM system (like Pirelli's) was designed for inter-operatbility, which is something LU and NT were trying to avoid.
