John, re:you want ambient music It seems to me that this is a need crying for a new "intelligent" audio (or audio/video) component which would contain a large HDD and/or DVD/CD player to bring the music into your entertainment center. I'm sure we will see such components in the future. In the mean time I was thinking that I could take my old classic Pentium 100 laptop that isn't used anymore, slap in a SCSI PCMCIA card, then connect the large HDD. Connect the audio out to my pre-amp. All for the cost of the PCMCIA card and the HDD. I could re-use the old technology for a dedicated purpose. How's that for a do-it-yourself solution? greg
