Trev: I am probably a minority of one, but with all those negative rumors last spring, i.e., SingTel still interested in HKT, I always suspected it was Murdoch and his cohorts spewing through some of the media sites, such as Quamnet, to drive PCCW price down and hopefully kill the HKT buyout.

Never found anything to support that concept, only unnamed sources. Whoever was generating all the bad press, was quite successful -- if driving the stock price down was their agenda.

I am sure the Li family is not a well-loved group in Hong Kong and Asia. Daddy Li is a shrewd businessman and has beaten a few to the punch, and surely not always in an ethical way. Surely all the Li's and Murdochs have Ego's of huge proportions. Li Ka-Shing being named #1most powerful man in Asia probably infuriates those who are chasing him.

Certainly Prince Murdoch and Prince Li are competing in the same space -- and neither willing to coexist amicably.
