You are that old too. You unfortunate fellow <VBG> Yes I recall tires way prior to stell belted radials. I recall require inner tubes. I also recall blowouts that did not cause vehicles to overturn.

But the real annoyance of SUV's is the manner in which they are driven. I dislike the tailgaiting
and cut-in that seems to be expected as a right by some SUV drivers. Those same drivers
would not do this in a smaller car because they don't feel as protected from the consequence
of their actions.


You are correct about this type of driving. It is not prevalent here as it is in a larger city as it is in Erie. Imagine some place huge like Pittsburgh;-) I do agree with you. I was only saying that my wife feels safer driving in the winter with four wheel drive. Here SUV is not huge and she does not drive more than 40 MPH<G>
