"Re EBay: That was then and this is now; can't you guys come up with something new?"

Now how about that bad memory problem?
infoworld.com

"What does it all mean, DiViT? At any rate, apparently it WAS a typo, which was what I asked"
No you also suggested a race issue.

"BTW, I think if you study the EBay problem you'll find it was not simply a Sun failure; do you blame gun manufacturers for crime rates?"
No more than you blame Ford for tires falling off SUV's.

"I assume Halo follows the monopoly power. That's subject to change."
Any consumer wanting to do something that a not a traditional business application, are using your term, "screwed" if they are using a Sun platform, correct?

"No, I haven't seen Whistler. Why don't you tell us about it? One thing I'm not is scared."
So then you must concede that your statement, "Well, at least the training folks will have job security" is not based on any real knowledge about Whistler the CONSUMER NT version of Windows.

"You're quick to brand Sun with year-old missteps; why shouldn't that work both ways?"
Not as quick as you are to brand anything Microsoft says or does, even when you have NO REAL knowledge about the particular subject.
