An interesting news clip was posted on CUBE thread a week ago. It implied that the Sony encoder system, which is used in a Japanese digital system, didn't do a very good job. Poor Sony quality encoding would help InnovaCom if they get their solution working and it indeed produces excellent encoding results. I'm still out of MPEG ... waiting for some clarification from Koz on company direction. From SAC, it does seem that Lap Power deal is dying. This is the second major non-deal, the first being the ATCI failure. At some point, people may begin to question how solid deals with Digital and Litton are. The Lap Power deal was supposedly worth something like $40 million and was key hype material in the beginning. A positive spin could be put on it by saying Koz thinks he can make more than $40 million through non-exclusive agreements.
