Someone was speculating earlier about whether or not the optical revolution would be a lasting investment trend and how this might preclude holding JDSU. The attached link has a reasonably well written article which while not containing any revolutionary thinking, does present a balanced discussion of the issue.

FWIW: Seems to me that JDSU represents a pretty attractive way to play the optical demand. It may not be a gorilla, but it is certainly a dominant supplier (with customers like CSCO/NT/LU etc) into what is possibly an explosive market over a prolonged period of time.
