md1, I'm laughing because it's real simple. It's all about leverage. Your point is well taken, about allocating accordingly, on high priced stocks/ low priced stocks.

The thing is, I don't expect BRCM to give me the % gain of some younger, less recognized names. If I did then owning BRCM , even a small position, is fine.

My point real simply, is : Where is BRCM going ? 350...450?
Split 3:1 then to 150? (=450 now).

BRCM has done well but is vulnerable. I just don't like the odds so wouldn't be allocating any amount long. JMHO of course.

I much prefer to put my money and efforts into researching companies with stock between 15-30 that have a chance of doubling and tripling and then some, in a year. (I especially like the ones that double in a week or two).

And that is what I do. I like the percentage gains much better. Next case.
