(Nasdaq:NETP - news), a leading provider of precision merchandising and personalization software, today announced that it is working closely with Intel Corporation to optimize Net Perceptions solutions for Intel Pentium® III Xeon(TM) processors. The joint effort will allow businesses to more quickly and easily deploy Net Perceptions' array of e-commerce personalization solutions on their Intel-based systems. Net Perceptions estimates that about half of their customers currently operate on Intel-based systems.
Using the Intel® Application Solution Centers in Hillsboro, Oregon, Net Perceptions and Intel developers will refine the performance of various Net Perceptions e-commerce products' performance on 2-, 4- and 8-way Intel-based Web servers. The result will help minimize businesses' staff time, costs and hardware to rapidly deploy one or several applications of Net Perceptions' realtime, one-to-one personalization throughout their entire Web site.
While one of the most frequent applications of Net Perceptions for E-commerce is during customer check out, other popular applications that will be refined for ease of implementation through the Intel processors include deploying personalized recommendations when Web customers request additional product information, gift recommendations and place items into their electronic shopping baskets.
``Net Perceptions is a good example of a company that is driving innovation within the merchandising and personalization areas,'' said Tom Garrison, Director of IA-32 Product Marketing for Intel's Enterprise Platforms Group. ``We are working closely with companies such as Net Perceptions to maximize the performance of their technologies on our scalable Pentium III Xeon platform to ensure that our customers receive the maximum e-business benefit from their Intel-based systems.''
