That is totally incorrect. Audiovox buys from their CDMA agent in Japan & they are not a licensed CDMA vendor. Nokia can do the same through Telson in Korea. You can't recharge royalties at each step of the distribution channel.

NOK has much bigger problems than the issue of licensing for 1X handsets. The real question for NOK regards the licensing of WCDMA. IMO, NOK is going to sit out of the CDMA market until they can sort through the details for the standardization of WCDMA.

I would love to know if there is any specific timetable in which the final standards for WCDMA will be published.
