Thai Business Briefs: Charoen Pokphand Ups US Unit Stake

BANGKOK -- Thailand's Charoen Pokphand Foods PCL (H.CPF) said Thursday the company and its unit Bangkok Produce Merchandising PCL will raise the group's holdings in Charoen Pokphand (USA), Inc., a broiler chicken producer, to 96.3% from 36%. The two firms will subscribe to 225 million shares in the U.S. company at a total cost of $18 million.
