Sending photo images by wireless ought to be a godsend for professional photographers, particularly in sports/news photography, where you need to get that image back to the home office to meet a deadline. But I don't see it as a major trend for the average photographer.

Same could have been of the telegraph, radio, and the telephone. When you can take a high-quality video or still with your cellphone and send it anywhere right away, we will be in the era of the "Real-Time Post Card™" (just kidding about the trademark). To say nothing of more serious uses: "Where are you?" "Dunno, lemme show you. [holds up cellphone, scans intersection]" "OK, go about a mile further, and make the first right after the Wal-Mart. See ya."
