On June 1, 1998 Kinross issued 92.1 million shares to acquire AMAX Gold.
Cyprus AMAX got 23.4 million shares, all of which they eventually disposed of.
The AMAX convertible debentures are still out, now called KinAM Gold and convertible into about 4.85 KGC common.

I am not aware of Kinross using the "KinAM" name for exploration nor of anyone using "AMAX" or "AMEX"
I'm sure American Express or the American Stock Exchange would object to the latter.

Sure, I will always gladly do a little research for you, you could also do a little panning for me <grin>
