Yes, but you recommended The Hudsucker Proxy to me, and I thought it sucked. I did think the part at the beginning where the guy jumped out the window was very well done, but I lost interest in the plot. Very well done, it was the plot that sucked. As is usual for the Coen brothers these days, unfortunately. They've gone High Concept, and if you don't buy the concept, then you won't like the movie.
My time would have been better spent re-watching Blood Simple, which was straightforward. From now on I get my movie recommendations from X only.
On second thought, though, Elmore Leonard is very very good, so maybe I will take your book recommendations, especially if I can get them at the library. Elmore Leonard has never let me down, at least the newer stuff, the old stuff wasn't all that good. |
